Together we are Bringing Back the Light

What a privilege to consistently witness one of medicine's most remarkable moments; someone who was once in darkness, now sees as the light begins to return. June is Cataract Awareness Month, and we are honored to share Bring Back the Light, a song inspired by the thousands of lives transformed through our collective work through Mission of Sight.

So far in 2026, we have restored sight to 390 individuals through cataract surgery and stemmed the progress of Glaucoma in 94 patients using the cutting edge SLT laser treatment, proving that when people join in around a common purpose, darkness does not have the final word.

This musical tribute beautifully captures the heart of our mission and the stories of those whose lives have been forever changed through the gift of sight. YOU, our generous, faithful, and faith-filled partners and friends - have been a big part of this.

Team

At Mission of Sight, our strength lies in the hands and hearts of those who serve. From our skilled volunteer surgeons and healthcare professionals to our small but dedicated team of Jamaican nationals and volunteers, our team shares one common goal: to restore vision and renew lives. United by a deep belief that access to quality eye care is a right, not a privilege. Every mission we undertake is powered by faith, collaboration, cultural respect, and clinical excellence.

Changing Lives by Restoring Sight

I Can See Again!

" Hallelujah! Jesus! I can see again! I can see again! Thank you, doctors, thank you nurses, thank you workers!"

- Edna (2024) Once Blind, But Now Can See

The Doctors Have Helped Me To See

"The doctors are the best. It's been over 10 years since I could see out. And the doctors have helped me to see. After the surgery, I can see, I can drive, I can go back to work, I can see my kids properly, I can watch television, I can read."

- Mr. Williams (2024) Once Blind, But Now Can See

I can see clearly!

"Thank you very, very, very much. You have done a lot for me! I can see!! I can see clearly!"

- Tatiana (2025) Once Blind, But Now Can See
