child sponsorship

Dear Supporters of CVS,

Here are three happy children, on their way to the Salvation Army School for Blind and Visually Handicapped in Kingston last Monday morning.  It was the culmination of months of planning, and made possible by supporters of our Child Vision Sponsorship program.  The two who are sponsored by Mission of Sight and Professional Eye Care (CVS) are Brittanya, in the middle, and Romario, on the right.    (The girl in yellow is from Mandeville and a third year student at SA.)

The donated funds paid for new uniforms, shoes, a long list of supplies and personal items needed for the year, and R&B for the first term at the school.

Our investment in the lives of these children and their families cannot be measured by the dollars or even the tears or prayers and hugs and efforts at encouragement.  But I strongly believe that we have yet to see what special opportunities these children will have that they would have never experienced if they could see normally with their physical eyes.  They will see things with their hearts that most of us will never see, and I pray that by God’s miraculous ways,  these children may actually be able to embrace their limited physical sight and even find ways to thank God for it…and then perhaps WE can learn to thank Him for it, as well.

Thank you for being an important part of giving new life and opportunity to these precious children.  I am confident that they feel loved and cared for in life-changing ways.  They will now understand the love of God more clearly, because they know they are truly loved by those who care.
